P.E.
At Summerfield, Physical Education is a vibrant cornerstone of our curriculum, fostering healthy bodies, confident minds, and teamwork skills for all children from Reception to Year 6. Our dedicated PE lessons, delivered twice weekly by teachers, cover a wide range of activities including gymnastics, dance (Taught by Miss Wendy), athletics, invasion games like football and netball, and striking/fielding sports such as cricket and rounders. We emphasise fun, inclusivity, and progression, ensuring every child participates regardless of ability. We work in Partnership with Milton Keynes Schools' Sports Partnership who provide high quality planning.
We boast facilities, including a spacious sports hall, outdoor playgrounds, and large grass outside space for events like Sports Day and Intra-School competitions. Pupils enjoy inter-house competitions, after-school clubs in Netball, Athletics, Hockey and multi-sports.
Our Golden Mile initiative encourages daily running to promote fitness and wellbeing. Summerfield also takes part in Annual Milton Keynes based competitions in Cross-Country, Swimming and Gymnastics. Giving children an opportunity to qualify for further regional events.
PE aligns with the National Curriculum, developing coordination, resilience, and social skills. We celebrate achievements through assemblies and certificates, inspiring lifelong active lifestyles.
Come and see our energetic PE in action!
