AUTUMN (2) Term 2023
Our Topic is: Celebrate With Me
This half term the children have been developing their mathematical language and exploring their sense of number. This includes recognising numbers to 10 and 20, matching them to the correct quantity, ordering and recognising numbers to 100. Alongside this, the children have been learning about 2D shapes, their properties, their physical representation and exploring fractions of whole, half and quarter.
So far this term, the children have been learning about ‘Naughty Bus’, ‘Kipper’s Birthday’ and ‘Squirrel’s Snowman’ stories. Alongside their writing activities, the children have been enjoying daily Dough Disco sessions and scissor skills sessions to support the develop of hand muscles and build strength to support their writing development.
As part of ‘Kipper’s Birthday’, the children enjoyed celebrating Kipper’s birthday with a tea party. The children made decorations for the classroom and party hats. As part of their weekly cooking activity, they made jam and cheese sandwiches to enjoy at the party.
This half term the children have enjoyed weekly P.E sessions with Miss Martin. During these sessions the children have been working on key skills such as: following instructions, taking turns, throwing, hitting targets and retrieval skills.
